Frequently Asked Questions.
Quick answers to what most customers ask before starting a custom build.
What kinds of custom builds do you actually do?
Pretty much anything that involves welding, fabricating, or modifying a truck body. We've built specialty pump trucks, water trucks, equipment haulers, one-off rigs for unique trades, modified existing bodies (extended, shortened, reinforced), and built things that nobody else would tackle. If you can sketch it on a napkin, we can usually build it.
Do I need detailed drawings to get a quote?
Nope. A rough sketch, a description, or even just a phone call works. We've been doing this for 70+ years so we know how to translate "I need something that can do X" into actual specs. The more detail you give us, the more accurate our quote — but don't let lack of drawings stop you from reaching out.
How long does a custom build take?
Depends heavily on what we're building. Simple modifications might be 2-3 weeks. Full custom fabrication projects can be 6-12 weeks, sometimes longer for very complex builds. We'll give you a real timeline once we understand what you need.
Can you modify a body I already have?
Yes — modifications are a big part of what we do. Extending a body to make it longer, shortening one, reinforcing it for heavier loads, adding compartments, changing the layout. Bring us your existing body and tell us what you want to change.
What materials can you work with?
Steel and aluminum are our bread and butter. Stainless steel for specialty applications. We weld, cut, bend, fabricate, drill, mount, paint, line — pretty much anything a commercial truck shop needs to do.
How does pricing work for custom?
Honestly, every custom build is different so we don't have a price sheet. We quote based on material cost, hours of labor, and complexity. Submit a request or give us a call — we'll talk through your project and give you a real number to work with. Custom builds aren't cheap, but you're getting exactly what you need vs. something close.
Can you build for special industries (oil/gas, agriculture, etc.)?
Yes. We've built bodies for landscapers, contractors, oil and gas operators, farmers, towing companies, fleet operators, municipalities — pretty much every industry that runs commercial trucks. If your industry has unique requirements, tell us about them and we'll figure it out.
Prefer to talk it through?
Custom projects often start with a conversation. Call us — we'll listen, ask questions, and figure out how to build what's in your head.
