Frequently Asked Questions.
Quick answers to what most customers ask about box trucks and body swaps.
What exactly is a body swap?
A body swap is when we take the body off one truck and put it on another — or replace an old worn-out body with a new one on the same chassis. It applies to any body type, not just box trucks: dump bodies, service bodies, flatbeds, hooklifts, you name it. If your chassis is still good but the body's shot (or vice versa), a swap saves you thousands versus buying a whole new truck.
When does a body swap make sense?
A few common situations: your truck body is rusted or damaged but the chassis runs great; you bought a used chassis and need a body put on it; you're upgrading to a different body type; or you totaled a truck and want to save the good body. Give us a call and we'll tell you straight whether a swap makes financial sense for your situation.
What size Morgan box can I get?
Morgan makes dry freight box bodies from 12 to 30 feet, in 96" or 102" widths, with interior heights from about 79" to 109". Doors can be roll-up or swing-style. We'll spec the right size based on your chassis and what you're hauling.
Do you do refrigerated (reefer) boxes?
No — we focus on dry freight box bodies. If you need refrigerated, we can point you in the right direction, but that's a specialty we don't handle in-house.
How long does a body swap take?
Depends on the body type and condition of both the chassis and body. A straightforward swap might be a few days; one that needs subframe work, wiring, or modifications takes longer. We'll give you a real timeline once we see the truck.
Can you add a liftgate to my box truck?
Absolutely. We're a Maxon and Thieman liftgate dealer, so we can spec and install the right liftgate for your box truck — tuckaway, railgate, whatever fits your loading needs. Just mention it when you request a quote.
Can you repair my existing box body instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. Roll-up door issues, panel damage, floor repair, rust — a lot of box body problems are fixable. Bring it in and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth repairing or whether a swap makes more sense.
Prefer to talk it through?
Body swaps especially benefit from a quick phone call — we can walk you through what's possible with your existing body and chassis.
